It was a whopping four degrees warmer this morning than the weekend's chilly climes when we pushed off from the dock at dark o'clock. Not balmy. Certainly not glassy conditions. But still great to be back in the boat with Stefan and out on the bay.
True, we just missed a beautiful sunrise (sometimes that happens when the need for speed gets hold of us and we arrive back to the dock early).
And yes, Stefan is not quite over his cold. Oh yeah, and an extra hour of sleep would've been nice.
But seeing the San Francisco skyline silhouetted against the morning sky like some far away Narnia and watching the water go from jet black to midnight blue to a swirl of color and light – all completely worth it.
