It's been a while, but with winds whipping at 17 miles per hour at the Golden Gate Bridge (according to our handy app Wind Alert) and a surf advisory notification (brought to us by our favorite weather app Weather Underground), we decided to push off at the ungodly hour of 5:45 a.m. and row around Angel Island.
Fortunately, I had my new glow-in-the-dark jacket on (picture coming soon – I promise – it's amazing) and luckily, the water was semi-cooperative (new jacket is water-repellant. Score!).
And 2,116 strokes later, that's 15,818 meters (aka 8.5 nautical miles), we were done (stats provided by Ritmo, our don't-leave-home-without-it rowing app). Yep, we're nerds and true, we do get up ridiculously early, even on the weekends, but with views like the one below, can you blame us?
